Hey all! Bryce here! First of all:
CONGRATS ON OVER 5000 BACKERS!
We're partying! Or would be if we weren't all mostly all over the age of 30, meaning bed by 8pm 😅
And speaking of holiday weekend...
REMINDER THAT IT'S A LONG WEEKEND HERE IN THE USA!
That means that I am likely going to be the only person online for the next 3 days, so if there's delays getting to comments and stuff, I apologize in advance. I am sadly not a one man army 😅
ON TO $1mil! ... Hopefully!
Next up, with some luck and perseverance, is our $1mil Stretch Goal, which has us adding Donato's amazing sketches to the books as additional end sheets! It would be a really fun add, being able to open to the colored art, then flip a page to compares with the sketch, so we really hope we manage to get there!

THE UNBROKEN ANTHOLOGY TO SUPPORT PETER ORULLIAN ENDS IN LESS THAN A WEEK!
Brandon Sanderson, Christopher Paolini, Seanan McGuire, Matt Dinniman, Jim Butcher... These are just a few of the names providing stories for Unbroken.
After a lengthy battle with cancer that he managed to overcome, Peter Orullian was left saddled with significant medical debt that he had limited opportunity to free himself from. With encouragement from Shawn Speakman from Grim Oak Press, he put together Unbrokenboth as not only a means of clearing some of that debt, but also as a way of encouraging others in similar situations to fight.
This anthology not only contains a multitude of incredible authors (check out the buttom image for the full list), but additionally comes with amazing art provided by some of the best artists in the fantasy space today!
Even if you don't want the full book, there are lots of fun small add ons to pick up if you prefer cool bookmarks, collectable coins, etc. Whatever the case, it's worth take a look at, if only because chances are you've read someone on this list already!
$750k Stretch Goal Met!! And a Reminder/Clarification About the New Dust Jackets!

Hey all! Bryce here! Dropping this Update earlier in the day because we are RUNNING to get this most recent Stretch Goal rolling so we can get it together with minimum impact on our delivery time!
$750K STRETCH GOAL DOWN!
CONGRATS ON CRACKING THE $750K STRETCH GOAL! We know that was a big goal for so many of you guys, and we're SO happy the community managed to make it happen! With this Goal down, the slip cases will be coming illustrated, with completely brand new art!
An important note about this Stretch Goal! As stated on the Goal graphic, this may result in a delay of up to 60 days in fulfillment. While we do sometimes have some Stretch Goal art rolling early because we're really confident we'll reach said goal, we genuinely didn't know if we were gonna hit $750k on HHG, so this art hasn't remotely been started. Between scheduling with busy artists (since we want to get you the best art we can) and the unique dimensions needed to make this illustratio work (we at least want to illustrated the top as well as the front, spine, and back, and are gonna try to illustrate the bottom as well), that can take a lot of headway and back and forth.
Now... Do we think that's actually going to result in fulfillment being pushed back? No. We built a lot of leeway into our estimated ship date as is, and we're WAY ahead of this project compared to past ones, having learned our lesson on missed deadlines. However, we also learned that disasters can happen with printing partners and the like, so we are just being extra cautious and trying to underpromise and overdeliver if we can!
So in short: Look forward to seeing the new illustrated slip cases coming in the next few months, and just a heads up that we may need up to an extra 60 days to make that happen (though we hope we don't)!
A REMINDER AND CLARIFICATION ABOUT THE NEW DUST JACKETS!
For those who missed it, we announced that we're now offering brand new, Kickstarter-exclusive dust jackets! You can see the full announcement on Update #7, along with instruction on how to get them if you want them!

We did need to make a clarification, though! Don't worry, it's a good one, and thank you to Shirley for pointing out the concern in her comment on the main campaign:
These jackets will also be printed with the 170gsm paper we unlocked in the Stretch Goals for the base jacket, NOT the 120gsm I mistakenly said they'd be printed on in Update #7!
In my head I was thinking "They'll match the base jacket, obviously", and blanked on the fact that the base jacket had been upgraded, ha. But not to worry, they WILL be printed on the 170gsm, instead of the initial thinner 120gsm!

New Kickstarter-Exclusives! You Wanted More Jackets... So Have Some EXCLUSIVE Ones!

THE LONG VERSION:
Hey all! Bryce here with a small confession: I messed up the pricing of these books a little 😅. I explain it in this video, or you can skip it and just read below. But, first: NO. You will NOT be charged more at any point on your existing pledges for my mistake. That's not how Wraithmarked works. When we mess something up, it's on us. You'll only pay more if you want to get these new dust jackets!
So where did I mess up: In this case, it was the slipcases. For some reason, I was under the impression that they were going to cost us less than $10 USD to produce each, and they are actually just over $15. Talking to the printer. It makes sense. These are top end out the gate with 3mm boards, cloth wrapping, foil, AND velvet lining. And that's before we potentially go full-color printing at the $750k Stretch Goal if we get there. Combine that with the fact that we print all our deluxe editions in the UK instead of Asia, and I should have known my calculations were wrong.
Don't Panic! That's not the end of the world! We're still making something off every tier (including the slipcase tier) so it's not like this is going to put us in the red! It does, however, change our profit calculations for this project somewhat, which is important for just our overall ability to invest in this and other projects like it (as well as smaller passion projects) long term.
So... We had an idea. Many of you guys have asked for alternate dust jackets, as well as a way to display some of the art from inside the books. After some brainstorming, we think we've come up with a great way to get you guys what you wanted, and...
Well... here you go!
TWO NEW KICKSTARTER-EXCLUSIVE DUST JACKETS!
These jackets are double-sided, and are completely Kickstarter-exclusive! You will not be able to purchase them after the campaign ends!
Exclusive Jacket 1 Front Mock-up. Subject to Change.
Each features one completed end sheet illustration of Donato Giancola's on one side and the initial sketch version of that finished piece on the other! On the front flaps, they are accented with detailed zooms on some of some of the fun parts of the jacket, overlayed with a good HHG green for variety!
Exclusive Jacket 1 Reverse Mock-up. Subject to Change.
You have two methods of accessing them! First, we have a new "ALL IN!" tier that includes both the slipcase and the jackets, allowing you to include them with your base pledge! This will save you a little bit of money ($5 USD), and is the simplest way to add them. Instructions below under "How To Modify Your Pledge" if you need them!
The second way to get them is simply to add them as an Add On! This is a little more expensive since it doesn't come with a discount, but if you'd like extra jackets (since they'll never be printed again), OR if you don't want the slipcase, this is the best way! Again, instructions below under "How To Modify Your Pledge" if you need them!

They will be printed on 120gsm paper just like the base jacket, and price is $40 USD + s/h for both, with that discounted to $35 USD + s/h if you get it as part of the new "ALL IN!" tier!

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING: To keep shipping down and make sure that people can display these jackets however they want (on the books, on a shelf, or framed), they will be coming rolled together in a separate secure box. (Trying to ship them any other way would be measurably more expensive, put them at risk of damage, or both).

3) Click "Change your pledge"
4) Under "Available rewards", find and select your existing tier (it will be at the top, already labeled "Your selection")
5) Under "Select optional add-ons", find and "Add" the "HHG Exclusive Dust Jackets" Add-On (if you'd like more than one set, make sure to specify that before moving to Step 6)

7) Select either "Pledge in full" or "Pledge Over Time"

Hey there folks!
You all have been fiending over these stretch goals and upgrades - thank you! As we mentioned in our last update (our $500k goal), the ribbon bookmark included in every book will now come with a printed design! BUT, now that we've reached the $600k goal, we will include yet another printed ribbon bookmark!
Our current plan remains the same: we'll do one black ribbon with green "DON'T PANIC!" repeated along it, and the second ribbon will be green and read "DON'T PANIC!" in black!
We're well on our way to the next stretch goal at $750k, and, it's a big one! We'll see you in the next update!
